TOM HANSON

Tom Hanson began his career in commercial real estate in 1987 at the O’Hare/Chicago office of Grubb and Ellis Co. He quickly found his niche as a tenant and landlord rep for office space in the East/West Corridor in the Oakbrook to Aurora suburban market. After two years he was relocated to downtown Chicago, continuing as a tenant/landlord rep. In 1989 he transferred to Golub & Company managing other brokers and negotiating office leases.

In 1991 Hanson Commercial Real Estate was formed at the present location, 333 N. Michigan Avenue. Over the years Mr. Hanson has represented tenants needing 250 sq. ft. to several hundred thousand feet. Some of his clients include Fortune 500 companies, and pension fund managers seeking Triple A properties. To date, he has brokered over 2,000 commercial leases.

As the economy changed so did Mr. Hanson’s representation. He has broadened his scope to include retail leases for the fashion industry, restaurant industry, health clubs, home furnishings and hotels. During the past 10 years he has sold numerous commercial and investment grade properties ranging up to $550,000,000.

If there is a property you want, he can get it, whether it is for sale or not. There isn’t an office or retail space in Chicago he hasn’t personally seen. He is tenacious, knowledgeable and dedicated to obtaining the best value for his clients.

Tom serves on the Board of Directors for Life Directions, a not-for-profit organization that mentors 7th and 8th grade 'at risk' students in lower income neighborhoods. Tom is also on the Board of Directors of Concordia-Avondale School located at 3300 N. Whipple which offers infant through kindergarten day care and preschool as well as after school programs for the neighborhood and seniors programs.

GABRIELLE HANSON

Gabrielle Hanson has been involved in the real estate industry for over 20 years. Her expertise lies in identifying trends in the retail and hospitality industries from extensive research nationally and globally. In an attempt to help her clients stay ‘ahead of the curve’ she travels the globe in search of the up and coming building designs and retail offerings.

Residentially she represents buyers as well as sellers, offering unique approaches to selling properties in challenging economic conditions. She is an expert Short Sale Negotiator having worked on dozens in the past few years. Her approach to buying is to view the property as being ‘on sale’ and not ‘for sale’. She doesn’t believe a buyer should ever get too emotionally attached to a particular piece of property so that they can make a prudent decision to walk away if the bidding increases too steeply. 1031 Exchanges are a large part of her commercial activity. With vast nationwide contacts both she and Tom Hanson can find a client property in any major market in America.
